Summer Time!

What an eventful last few weeks we have had! Daddy finished his fourth year of his engineering degree (only one year to go!), Mommy wrapped up her fifth year of teaching 7th graders, and Charlie had his very first non-family baby-sitter! She's a former student whom I used to baby-sit. It was a great experience for him and for us!
If you read the previous post, you know Charlie went to see a specialist about the placement of his feet when he walks. We are still in the process of assessing how "bad" it is and what accommodations, if any, we need to make. It doesn't seem to cause him any pain, and it certainly hasn't slowed him down! We will keep you updated.
We are really looking forward to this summer as a family. Rick is only taking one class and it's online, so he'll be home with Charlie all summer. I'll be home as well, but in June I teach summer school Monday through Thursday mornings. I'll still be home in the afternoons and on Fridays. We have lots of summer plans, including a trip to Colorado at the end of July for a family reunion on Rick's side. Fortunately, Charlie is a GREAT car traveler, so we are not dreading the nine hour drive - at least, not for that reason. :) Also during July, we'll be taking a road trip to Wichita and Pratt to see Charlie's Great-Grandpa, Great Uncle and Aunt, and cousins. We also look forward to more visits from Uncle Alex and Aunt Molly from Oklahoma - and maybe we could swing a trip down to visit them, too!
